Endometritis (inflammation of the uterus)

Refers to inflammation of the endometrium, the inner lining of the uterus. Infection is the usual cause of the inflammation and the organisms that cause endometritis most commonly include: Chlamydia, gonococcus, and tuberculosis. The disorder is associated with childbirth, abortion, surgery or IUD use.
