Amyloidosis

Amyloidosis is a disease that is caused by the deposit of an abnormal protein called amyloid. The protein can deposit in tissue and organs throughout the body. Symptoms are related to the organs involved. The cause of primary amyloidosis is unknown. Amyloidosis can occasionally result from certain illnesses such as tuberculosis and rheumatoid arthritis. This is called secondary amyloidosis.
