Spondylolisthesis (slipped back bone)

A condition in which one vertebra becomes offset in its position over another. The main cause is degeneration of the discs in the spine. Other causes include congenital anomalies, trauma, tumors and bone diseases, and surgical procedures. Although this disorder most commonly occurs in the low back, it can occur in any part of the spine.
