Magaldrate is a chemical complex of aluminum and magnesium hydroxides that acts as an antacid. Upon contact with gastric acid, it rapidly neutralizes the acid by raising the pH of the stomach contents. This reduction in acidity alleviates the burning sensation and irritation caused by acid reflux or dyspepsia.
Take as directed, usually between meals or at bedtime, not exceeding the maximum daily dose.
